Amerigroup Credentialing: Provider Participation
[s2If current_user_is(s2member_level0) OR current_user_is(administrator)]
From: Vickie Guarraci
During the past year there has been significant effort to persuade Amerigroup to make acceptable changes to their credentialing process. Amerigroup’s excessive CBI requirements and personal ownership disclosure information were not within reason and required modifications which they were unwilling to make. However, through consistent negotiations we are pleased to announce that Amerigroup has agreed to the requested changes and we can move forward with completing credentialing.
Important Provider Involvement:
Although, CARE typically completes and signs all credentialing on behalf of its Members, due to language changes in some Amerigroup documents, it will now require a Provider’s (Owner or Administrator) signature. To assist you in recognizing these documents attached are samples of the three documents that will need Provider’s signature. When these documents are sent to you we ask that you please sign and return upon receipt as credentialing is time sensitive.
Additionally, please be advised that although Amerigroup removed the request for personal SS numbers they do require the date of birth on the Attestation Release Form. However, they have agreed to allow us to leave it blank (To our knowledge they have only agreed to do this for CARE Providers) with the written understanding that if an owner’s name is identified on the OIG site then CARE is obligated to provide the date of birth.
All correspondence from CARE is confidential and proprietary and is strictly intended for the use of its Members.
